Ziya's Veteran Writer-Producer Themba Sibeko Created and Produced “Vuka MawuLele” a five part mini-series for MNET’s Mzansi Magic Channel 161 which aired on a prime time slot at 7pm every Saturday in August 2013. The Series received the highest ratings among the under the banner Lokshin Bio-Scope five part Mini-series for Mzansi Magic. Realizing there was huge demand for well scripted content .In 2016 , Sibeko created Ziya Pictures to fill the void of premium African Series television content. As Managing Director/Creative Executive Themba has over 100 Production Credits in Including the 2004 Oscar Nominated Hotel Rwanda.As Film Commissioner and CEO of the Gauteng Film Office (currently Gauteng Film Commission ),Themba Secured an financing of $9million USD from the IDC for the production .
Ziya Pictures created and Produced The Alliance” broadcast in April 2016, with Ants Media & Ochre Media – A Times Media Company. It garnered a 26% Market share an estimated 1,5 Million Households in a Prime time slot on etv South Africa’s second largest free to air channel. The first Original Content license deal by the Free to Air Channel.
2023 marks an increase for Ziya Pictures in the development of both High End TV series content, Movies of the Month and Unscripted content focusing on unique and universally appealing stories primarily through the African lens.

For the Third Year in a row, Managing Director Themba Sibeko was selected as Judge and Ambassador for the second year in a row by the Society of Voice Over and Science (SOVAS) Voice Over Awards. The Winners will be announced at the Beverley Hilton December 8th in Los Angeles, California. USA. Two time Academy Award Winner Ziya Pictures was recently appointed by Johannesburg based URBONIX Service Revolution to Produce a Proof of Concept Trailer for Fashion Freedom;30 Years of Democracy in South Africa a 13 Part Documentary Series currently in development.
